For Healing of Mind, Body, Spirit, Relationships

Introduction

This prayer is an adapted form of the original prayer given in
the book, "Praying With Mary", by Janice T. Connell. This is a
good prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, since it contains
consecratory prayers, a selected Scripture passage, and the
rosary. If you want to make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament
and need a structure of prayer to follow, this one would be just
right for a 30-minute stay in the adoration chapel.

Part one

I adore you, O most holy Lord Jesus Christ, and I bless you here
and in all places where your faithful is gathered in Your Holy
Name throughout the world.

Blessed be the Holy Trinity, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Glory to our Father, Who created me; glory to the Son, Who
redeemed me; glory to the Holy Spirit, Who sanctifies me.

Part two (Consecration to the Sacred Heart)

Jesus, I know that You are merciful and that You have offered
Your Heart for us. It is crowned with thorns and with our sins.
We know that You implore us constantly so that we do not go
astray. Jesus, remember us when we sin. By means of Your Heart,
make all people love one another. Make hate disappear from among
Your people. Show us Your Love. We all love You and want You to
protect us with Your Shepherd's Heart and free us from every sin.
Jesus, enter into every heart. Knock! Knock at the door of our
hearts. Be patient and never desist. We are still closed because
we have not understood Your Love. Knock continuously. O Good
Jesus, make us open our hearts to You, at least in the moment we
remember Your Passion suffered for us. Amen.

Part three (Consecration to Mary)

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, ardent with goodness, show your love
to us. May the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend on all
mankind. We love you so. Impress true love in our hearts so that
we have a continuous desire for you. O Mary, meek and humble of
heart, remember us when we are in sin. You know that all people
sin. Give us, by means of your Immaculate Heart, spiritual
health. Let us always see the goodness of your maternal heart,
and may we be converted by means of the flames of God's love
for us in your heart. Amen.

Part four (Scripture prayers)

Jesus said: "Peace be with you...As the Father has sent me, so
I send you" (John 20:21).

Lord Jesus, fill me with Your Holy Spirit that I may live Your
Word and thereby be an instrument of peace to the ends of the
earth.

Jesus said: "Be like servants who await their master's return...
You must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son
of Man will come" (Luke 12:36, 40)

(short silence for meditation)

Part five (rosary)

Recitation of the Holy Rosary

Recitation of the Litany of Loreto

Pray the Magnificat

Part six (Act of contrition)

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You, and I
detest all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the
pains of hell. But, most of all my God, because You are all good
and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of
Your grace to confess my sins, do penance and amend my life.
Amen.

Part seven (Prayer to St. Michael)

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard
against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke
him, we humbly pray; and do you, Prince of the Heavenly Host,
by the power of God, cast into hell all the evil spirits who
wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Concluding Part

Seven Our Fathers, seven Hail Marys, seven Glory Be to the
Fathers.

Saint for Good Health and Work: St. Pancratius

Saint in Review: St. Pancratius

Feast day: May 12. There is little to be said much of the martyr saint, St. Pancratius. In other sources, he is called Pancras. He is said to have been a young soldier or a young lad who was martyred in the early Christian centuries.

What is particularly special about this saint is a classic devotion that developed in honor of him. This devotion is a nine-day novena and usually prayed by those who want to ask God through his intercession for: work and good health, for successful endeavours, and to be free from adversities and from ill-intentioned persons. This is a very effective novena that is not known by many. But it is prayed by many in other countries, many of them in Europe.

This novena is really good for earning a living and for success in life. If you buy a statue of St. Pancratius, he is usually depicted as a young lad holding a book which has a Latin inscription that means (not exact translation) "I give every good thing to those who come to me" and with the right hand of the saint pointed upward to heaven. The colors usually of the statue are a combination of red, white and green. He also holds a parsley leaf in one of his hands. Parsley is said to have many health benefits.

May this novena help you find a job or begin a business that will help you see and realize that all good things come from God.

Doubt Not, But Believe

A Poem on the Resurrection Appearance of Jesus to the Apostles

1
Days have past
and light has shown
clearly on His apostles

2
Peace has been received
with much welcome and
joy and gladness.

3
Such radiance and brilliance
has erased all doubt from them
but darkness still clouds a mind
- one who was not present
when Light bathed and Peace
breathed through the whole Cenacle.

4
"I will only believe when I see"
"It's true!" "He's alive!"
"Light has shone through the
darkness of our hearts.
Peace has entered our soul.
We believe. He is alive!"

5
"I will only believe when I see"

.......

6
Silence covers the Cenacle.
Prayer is the common language.
One heart, one soul, one mind.
Believing in faith. Yet one doubts.

7
"Light appears"
"Peace be with you!"
Thomas, come and see
the marks on my hands
and side. Do not doubt.
Doubt not but believe.

8
As Thomas saw and held,
Light flooded his soul
the darkness melted away
from his heart. And faith
shone brilliantly within him.
"My Lord and My God!"
he exclaimed. I believe in
You and Your Resurrection.

9
Happy are you Thomas for you
have seen the Light. Blessed are
those who have not seen yet
believe.
For by their faith,
the darkness in their being
shall be dispelled.

Context of the poem is the Resurrection appearance of Jesus to the apostolic community and to Thomas.

Stanzas 1 and 2 describe how the apostolic community have gathered for a period of time when the light of Christ's resurrection began to dawn on them. Stanza 2 describes Christ Himself appearing to the apostolic community.

Stanza 3 describes how the apostles' doubt was dispelled by witnessing Christ in person. It also mentions the absence of Thomas who was not present in the Cenacle in the first Risen appearance of Jesus to the apostolic community.

Stanza 4 describes Thomas entering the scene and interacting with the apostles. He does not believe, but the apostles convince him by their experience.

Stanza 5 affirms the disbelief of Thomas.

Stanza 6 presents the whole community of apostles and disciples with Thomas praying together. All of them believe in Jesus risen again save for Thomas.

Stanza 7 presents Jesus appearing again to the apostolic community. Jesus calls Thomas to faith.

Stanza 8 presents Thomas exclamation of faith in the Risen Christ.

Stanza 9 presents the Risen Christ encouraging Thomas, the apostolic community, and all generations proceeding from them the importance of faith without seeing.
